About

As a student-centered leader, Jeff Brown has accumulated nearly 17 years of experience in retention and persistence work for students of color, low income and first generation students. Jeff earned both his B. A. in Political Science and a M. S. in Higher Education Administration from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. He then went on to begin his career at the University of Illinois at Chicago where he developed a passion for retention work and sought to dedicate his life to impacting the successful transition and graduation of underserved college students in the city that he loves. As a first-generation college student and a native of the South Shore community in Chicago, Jeff sees student affairs work as a powerful way to give back to his home community while pursuing his passions for social change.
