As a member of the Provost’s leadership team, the Vice Provost for Undergraduate Affairs and Academic Programs (VPUAAP) and his staff oversee and coordinate a variety of programs and activities that support the UIC undergraduate experience, academic programs, and the well-being and academic success of our students. The Office of the VPUAAP collaborates with a broad range of campus units including the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs, the undergraduate-serving colleges, departments, faculty, and others in planning and implementing programs that enhance the academic life of the student leading to graduation and overall success. The VPUAAP office has responsibility for the administration of the offices and programs of the First Year Initiatives; UIC Summer College; Army ROTC; Academic Center for Excellence (ACE); African American Academic Network; CHANCE Program; External Fellowships; LARES; L@S GANAS Program; Campus-wide Undergraduate Research; Native American Support Program; Student Advising Support; Undergraduate and Graduate Academic Program Support, Review and Assessment; Student Success Research; and Student Success Initiatives.
The VPUAAP office also engages with external entities such as other universities and school systems on matters of mutual interest.
